Prince Rupert Collective Agreement Settlement
Four year Collective Agreement from date of ratification to December
31,2008. Unless there are specific changes that have been negotiated,
the
terms of the old Collective Agreement stay the same.
Wage rate increases based upon the G/L rate
2% at date of ratification
2% January 1,2006,2%January 1,2007 and 2% January 1,2008
$750.00 One time signing bonus
Additional adjustment for Electrician, Millwright and Sheetmetal journeymen
of $.25 per hour January 1, 2007 and $.25 per hour January 1, 2008
Benefits
Increase Pension contributions by both the Company and
the Workers of $.25
per hour at ratification and $.25 per hour January 1, 2007
Medical travel allowance lifetime maximum increased from $5,000 to $10,000
Bereavement leave increase from 3 days to 5 days
Increase life insurance to three times the yearly salary rate. 10% of
which shall be fully paid-up on the employee's retirement to an annuity.
Dental plan increase for lifetime cap on Orthodontics to $2500
Vacation requests to be submitted by April 15 and decisions made by
May 1
Apprenticeship postings
One Millwright and one Sheetmetal by March 31, 2005
Two additional Trade positions by January 31, 2007 and one by January
31,
2008 with at least one of these three being Electrical.
Hours of work and Overtime
Ship tie-ups outside of regular hours to be paid double-time.
Bankable overtime hours increased to 48 hours.
Banked overtime hours may be taken off in two hour blocks.
Shift premiums will now be included for scheduled overtime hours on
weekends
or Statutory holidays.
Unless arrival before a shift starts is arranged prior to the end of
the
worker's previous shift, a request to come in early will be considered
a
callout and paid at applicable rates.
Other
Chargehands premium in Operations Department eliminated.
Existing
Chargehands Grandfathered until retirement or post into new position.
Post annually for Vacation relief for Oiler and Stores the first week
of
January.
Extend probationary period to 45 working days at $.20 per hour less
than G/L
rate.
